Victorian Velvet Thimble Holder with Lithophane Image and Webster Sterling Thimble

Late 19th-century velvet thimble holder featuring a small translucent porcelain lithophane image. When light is shined from behind, the image of a girl holding a jester doll becomes visible. Lithophanes like this were made in Germany and France during the Victorian era.

The holder measures about 2.5" tall, 2" wide, and 1.5" deep. It is covered in olive velvet with some wear but remains in very good condition. Included is a sterling silver thimble marked with the Webster hallmark and "Sterling" inside the apex. It is a size 8 with a daisy band design. The thimble is slightly out of round but has no punctures.

It is uncommon to find complete with a lithophane, this is the first one I've seen!
