Victorian Velvet Photo Album with Cabinet Cards – Baby, Twin, Cat Photos & 1896 Obituary – Maine Provenance

Antique velvet-covered photo album dating to the late 1800s, with beautiful red velvet fabric and metal script on the front (partial, some lettering missing). This album once had a working latch, but the clasp is now missing. The binding shows wear but remains intact.
Inside are a collection of Victorian and Edwardian photographs, mostly taken in Maine (including Madison, Waterville, Portland), featuring a range of subjects: several babies and children, a thumb-sucking infant, two pet cat portraits, and what appear to be twin sisters. One photo is accompanied by a clipped 1896 obituary for Laura Lucretia Brown, age 18, which details her cause of death (quinsy and consumption). While the photo it was found with may or may not be her, it was kept together for many years.
Album includes space for 5 large photos and 5 small, with most slots filled. A time capsule with local Maine provenance—I'm happy to provide more detailed photos upon request.
