Set of 45 Antique Decorative Gold Metallic Tassels, Curtain/Shade Pulls?

Measures:  2” long

Ok, these are a mystery to me!  They are made of a gold colored metallic wire, wrapped around a tiny wooden base.  They would be perfect for crafting, especially a Christmas project.  These were found in an 1800’s General Store at an estate auction here in Maine.  I suspect they date to the late 1800’s or very early 1900’s.  They certainly have the Victorian Era look!
