Both measure approx.. 1 inch

Cameos were very popular and were considered a cultural status symbol in the Victorian Era.  After all, Queen Victoria was a collector of cameos.  These particular cameos are carved out of shell or coral according to my research.  The pin is set in (I believe) sterling silver.  The pendant is likely surrounded by brass wire, but this could be silver with a patina.
