Large Victorian-era scrapbook dating from the early 1880s to the 1890s, filled with 69 pages of lithographed ephemera. This beautifully preserved album measures 15" x 12.5" and includes a wide range of Victorian paper treasures: advertising trade cards (sewing machines, railroads, florals, household goods), rewards of merit, greeting cards, calling cards, and two celebrity cards—Louise Paullin of Maine and actress Mary Anderson. There are also a few hand-painted pieces that appear to be original watercolor works.
The scrapbook's binding is solid and intact, with minor cover wear consistent with age. Pages are designed to slide out and back into slotted edges, making viewing and display easy. The cards inside are vibrant and clean, showing little wear.
