Mid Century Sewing Box, Repaired Top Tray?

Measures:  4” x 10” x 7.5”

A nice sewing box for everyday use!  The top tray has 5 compartments, 2 with covers.  There is a velvet pin cushion as well a velvet lined area for thimbles and other small items.  The inside cover would have originally had a mirror, this has been replaced with a magazine picture (?).  The box itself is very sturdy and has no areas of concern.  The top tray doesn’t sit perfectly square, I am wondering if this is a homemade replacement as the wood seems newer, but the pin cushion and thimble area appear to be of original vintage.
