Mauchline Ware Darner, Shakespeare House Stratford

This Mauchline Ware darner features a transfer image of Shakespeare’s House in Stratford-on-Avon and was made in Scotland, likely in the late 1800s to early 1900s.

The handle opens to reveal a small needle holder.

It is in very good condition with light, age-appropriate wear. The transfer image remains clear and the wood has a nice warm tone. The handle and needle holder fit together as they should. Measures about 4" long.

Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland. It is made of sycamore and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations. It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
