“Love Birds” Sterling Silver Thimble, Size 12, Simons Bros.

Thimble is in very good condition, there are no punctures and it is not out of round. It is hallmarked in the apex. There is some very minor tarnish which could be removed if desired.

Simons Bros of Philadelphia, PA was founded in 1839 by George Washington Simons. At that time, they were manufacturers of gold and silver thimbles and pencil cases.  The company grew rapidly from there, expanding to include many gold and silver items including (!) tooth and ear picks, earrings and finger rings.
