Late 19th Century Mauchline Ware Sewing Box with Contents as Found

This late 19th-century (1880-1900) Mauchline Ware sewing box features a transfer image of Grande Chartreuse, Le Couvent (a French monastery) on the lid.  It is made of sycamore wood in Mauchline, Scotland. These souvenir pieces were popular from the 1820s to early 1900s. Included are sewing items, including Clark’s wooden thread spools, a Bartlett & Sons needle packet, and a handmade satin emery. The lid has a Brooks Sewing Cotton label, a British brand known for high-quality threads in 19th-century Paisley, Scotland. The bottom of the box has the remnants of a Brooks label as well.  This box is in very good condition with little wear.
