This early 1900s J. & P. Coats “Boilfast Tatting” thread cabinet likely dates to around the 1910s–1920s. It has its original hinged glass front (no chips or cracks), metal frame, and labeled thread slots inside. The cabinet shows age-related wear including paint loss, oxidation, and a dent on one end, but the structure is solid. The bottom is clean and intact with all four felt feet still present. Hinges work well, and while the glass edges have been gently cleaned, there is still some buildup in spots.
Included are 52 vintage wooden thread spools: 24 silk, 3 nylon, and 25 cotton. Some are unused, while others have been partially used over the years. Brands include Penimaid, Belding-Corticelli, Coats & Clark, Brainerd & Armstrong, Belding-Heminway, Beattie & McGuire, Eureka, A.H. Rice, Canton, John Cutter, Belding-Corticelli-Richardson and Star.
