Early 1900’s Milk Glass Opalotype Portrait in Original Leather Over Wood Case

Antique portrait on white glass, also known as an opalotype, dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era, circa 1898–1908. This is a sepia-toned photo of a young woman with a classic Gibson Girl hairstyle and is signed "Hall" in the lower right corner. Measures: Case: 5" x 4.25", Portrait: 3.5" x 3"
The portrait is in its original leather-over-wood presentation case with a dark green velvet surround and decorative gold-tone oval frame. The velvet is in excellent condition, the silk lining shows age-related fading but no tears. The gold-tone frame has a couple spots of tarnish consistent with age, and the leather exterior shows expected wear from over a century of use. The latch and hinges are fully functional.
