This hoop was made by Gibbs Mfg. Co of Canton, OH. It is likely from the 1900’s – 1910’s. It once had felt around the inner hoop, this is no longer in place. There are a couple of areas of chipping on the hoop, please see the photos. I believe this could still be used for stitching!
The floss is Boil Proof Bucilla Six Strand – the label encourages use of Ivory soap flakes for washing! The box it came in is a DMC box, this is how they were found, I’m not sure they actually go together but are probably both from 1940's - 1950's.
