Antique “Genuine Union Case” dating to about 1855–1860, made under S. Peck’s early photography case patents. This small 3" x 2.5" case once held an ambrotype or tintype photograph and still retains its original decorative brass mats and patent paper. The glass is intact and has no cracks or chips. One hinge has come away from the case, the top edge has a chip, and the latch is missing its handle, making it a bit tricky to open but still functional.
