Antique Sewing Bird

This antique sewing bird is a wonderful silver color! It’s a bit different from most sewing birds as it never had any pin cushions. I think the top part of the bird might have come from another one, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

The spring works great, and the screw clamp, with a sweet heart design on the bottom, turns easily to attach to a work surface. The bird swivels on its base and looks a little off center but that is to be expected—after all, it’s been around for over 100 years and clearly got lots of good use! The clamp isn’t bent, and overall, it’s in good condition for its age.
