Antique Pin Cushion and Needle Book/Trinket Box

Measures:  Pin Cushion – Approx 2” x 2”, Book – 2.5” x 2”

The pin cushion has the original velvet covering.  There is no damage to the cushion or the base.  The book has a very “smoky” mirror on the inside cover.  The outside is a deep blue velvet with gilt edges and decorations. It is in wonderful condition! This may have been a needle book as it was found with other antique sewing items.  It could also have been a pill box or tiny keepsake box. My research also revealed another rather interesting possibility:  If one wanted to hide a little something secret, they would use these tiny boxes that looked like innocent books for just that purpose!
