Early ambrotype portrait dating to about 1855–1865. The photograph is on glass rather than metal, giving it that slightly translucent, “ghost-like” clarity characteristic of ambrotypes. The image is clear with excellent detail, and the original brass mat and preserver frame are intact. Overall condition is excellent with no cracks to the glass. Measures 2.5" x 2".
