19th Century Men’s Wooden Shoe Pin Cushion

Measures:  6” long

This shoe has its laces!  The original cushion is in place, it was once a deep red velvet.  This has worn away with time.  I estimate this shoe dates to the 1870’s – 1880’s according to my research.  It is artfully carved, and you can almost see the leather!  There is some wear on the very pointy toe, a dimple on one side between the laces and the sole, at the back there is a chip.  Please take a close look at the photos.  The laces are in place but have come apart some through the years.  These shoe pin cushions were more frequently made in the form of a lady's shoe, it is unusual to see one in the shape of a men’s shoe!
