1930's German Die-Cut Pop-Up Lithograph Valentine

Measures:  8.5" x 4.5"

First of all, this valentine card must have been quite a splurge during the Great Depression!  It is beautiful and features an intricate die-cut and embossed design with gold accents, colorful lithographs, and a 3-dimensional scene of children, a love boat, and a dove delivering a letter. Printed in Germany, it is a great example of the care taken to craft early 20th-century valentines.  The back has a handwritten inscription, "To Eileen T. from Stanley Lane".  It is in very good antique condition with minor wear. The envelope is a bit more tattered but is included and states that this was a Valentine from the 1930's, 7th grade and is addressed to Eileen Thomas.  As to the wing repair - it appears to have been taken care of!
