1880’s to 1910’s Set of Three Mauchline Ware Souvenirs!

This collection includes three Mauchline ware items, all featuring sepia-toned transfer prints of notable landmarks.

1.    Napkin Ring: Mount Vernon. Damage to photo, carved “V” on side, all pictured.

2.     Sewing Kit: Monhegan Bluffs and South-East Light in Block Island, R.I. In good condition, includes needle envelope (no needles but great graphics!) and sterling silver thimble

3.    Hanging Scissors Holder: Burns' Monument in Scotland. Tiny scissors included, has repaired damage and loss to the finish as pictured.

Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland.  It is made of sycamore wood and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations.  It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
