These elegant antique opera glasses were crafted by Lemaire of Paris and sold by Andrew Lloyd Co. in Boston. They date to the late 19th to early 20th century. Opera glasses were a status symbol among the elite of this era, and these particular glasses certainly would have been an enviable accessory! The barrels feature amazing pink mother-of-pearl, the lenses are clear, and the focus knob works flawlessly. These glasses are in pristine condition! The original leather case with green silk lining is in excellent condition, the leather shows some signs of use and wear, but the silk lining is in stunning condition. It shows no wear or tears. The gold bumblebee-decorated clasp is not functional as there is a piece missing from the latch. Otherwise, the case is in very good condition! These glasses are perfectly usable, perhaps for bird watching or to tuck in a purse for sightseeing!
