1880-1900 Victorian Era Photo in Velvet Frame

A beautifully aged purple velvet frame surrounds this photo of a Victorian lady in an elegant dress and an elaborate (!wow!) hat. The clothing, especially the high neck, the hat, and dark, fitted dress are all on trend for this period. Also, the studio background and sepia tone were common in the late 19th century, particularly for middle- and upper-class families. Some of the velvet is worn on the frame, the metal stand on the back is in place and works fine. The glass over the photo is not damaged.
