This delightful album is full of photos! There is an inscription in the front reading, “From Mary with Love, 1875”. The album is in very good antique condition, the binding is leather and has no damage. There are 12 photos, all of which I have included here for you to see. This is a wonderful display piece as well as a great reference for the clothing, hairstyles and jewelry of the era!
Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland. It is made of sycamore wood and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations. It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
