This 1874 edition of Rush’s Almanac & Guide to Health was published by D.A. H. Flanders of New York and promotes Rush’s Medicines, claiming to cure nearly any ailment of the time. It includes health advice, home remedies, and advertisements for Rush’s Sarsaparilla & Iron and other tonics. This is the most fascinating and humorous information I have read in some time!! The booklet is in excellent condition, with a sturdy binding and vibrant cover art, though the colored ink has bled through to the first and last pages. The artwork is chromolithograph, a type of lithographic printing that uses multiple colors. A small loop of string is attached at the binding, likely for hanging. The Rush brand was part of the 19th-century patent medicine industry, offering widely marketed remedies.
