1800’s Mother of Pearl Thread Winder (#5)

Measures:  1 1/2”x1 1/8”

This is a fairly thick winder, lovebirds on front and flowers on the back.  There are no chips or cracks, there is a dark area on the back, I’m not sure if this is naturally occurring or due to use over the years.  There is also a natural dip in the winder on the back, it has been carved so apparently it was a part of the original shell, it actually fits your finger or thumb rather nicely!  This may have been part of a Palais Royal sewing box, made in Paris as they frequently used Mother of Pearl for many of their items.
