Sterling Silver Thimble & Sterling Silver Sewing Scissors

This sterling silver sewing pair includes a Simons Bros. thimble and a pair of sterling silver scissors. The thimble is marked sterling on the engraved band and has the Simons Bros. hallmark in the apex. It is size 9, and is in excellent condition, it is not out of round and has no punctures. The scissors have English silver hallmarks: “HCD,” an anchor, and a lion, and they are also stamped “Made in Sheffield”. The anchor indicates Birmingham assay (office that confirms silver content), the lion confirms sterling silver content, and “HCD” identifies the maker. The scissors have a little looseness at the joint and could use some sharpening but are in good working condition overall. Both pieces likely date to the late 19th to early 20th century.
