Early 1900s Painted Metal Alligator Tape Measure, Marked Germany

This alligator tape measure likely dates between the 1910s and the 1930s.  The paint does show signs of wear, but the colors are realistic! The very tip of his tail has broken. The end of the tape measure is inside. Perhaps this could be fixed by removing the top of the tape measure. I will leave that to the discretion of the buyer. This was made in Germany; the hallmark is on the bottom.
