Vintage Shakespeare Casting Reel, Circa 1926 with Original Leather Case

Measures:  Leather case – 5” tall, 4” wide. Reel – 2.25” long, 2.25” wide

An interesting gift for the fisherman or woman!  This is a great collectible vintage Shakespeare Criterion Level Winding, No. 1960, Model 26 casting reel. Made in Kalamazoo USA, the trademark says "Shakespeare, Honor Built, Honor Sold". This reel has a double Bakelite knob handle and red jewel bearing caps on each end. It is in good vintage condition.  It has been used and shows normal age and wear.  My research indicates that this reel was made around 1926. The handle spins easily with a nice ticking sound.  There is old black fishing line on the reel, probably original.  The leather case is in very good condition, the lid is still attached, and the stitching is in place.  A wonderful addition to a collection!
