Vintage Footstool Pincushion, Advertising Premium for “McGrath’s Big Store Woburn, MA”

Measures:  2.25” tall, 3” wide

This diminutive footstool is absolutely adorable!  It is on a wooden base, the legs are metal, and the cushion is a marbleized plush velvet.  This was an advertising premium for McGrath’s Big Store in Woburn, MA.  Sadly, I wasn’t able to find any information on this store.  I would estimate that this dates to the early part of the 1900’s.  The wooden base is painted gold and I believe the legs were once gold colored as well.  There are no large holes in the cushion, pin holes only.  The legs have taken on a rusty patina over the years, but it is very solid, nothing is loose.  This is just so cute!  It has had pride of place on my applewood shelves but is ready for a new home!
