Victorian Gold Filled Pince Nez Eyeglasses with Gold Hair Pin and Original Leather/Velvet Case

Measures:  4” across lenses, chain is 10” long, hair pin is 2.5” long

This beautiful pair of pince nez glasses are in very good condition.  The lenses are not chipped or scratched.  The nose pieces are in place as is the original chain and hair pin.  The nose piece is stamped, but I can’t quite make out what it says, I believe it says “ITS U”.  Perhaps a partial Au which is the symbol for gold.  The brown leather case is lined with purple velvet and stamped with the doctor’s name and “Waterville, Maine” in gold ink.  The case opens and closes easily but does show signs of wear and use.  I suspect these date to around 1900.
