Sterling Silver Thimble Case with Sterling Silver Ketchum & MacDougall Thimble

This is a flawless pair!  The case has a floral design and is marked “925” on the inner rim.  This indicates that it is made of sterling silver.  The lid opens and closes easily.  There is a ring attached so that it can be added to a pendant or as part of a chatelaine. 

The thimble is hallmarked in the apex, Ketchum and MacDougall, Sterling.  It is a size 8.  There are no punctures and it is not out of round.  Ketchum and MacDougall was founded in 1875 in New York, NY.  The company ceased operation in 1932 during the Great Depression.

Both of these pieces likely date to the early 1900’s.
