This vintage book tells five short stories set in early Maine, written by Maude Clark Gay. It offers insight into the lives and relationships of early settlers. The book is bound with a decorative tassel and features simple typography typical of early 20th-century publications.  The book is in good condition but does have some spots, the box has protected it well.  The box top is in poor condition but remains an essential part of the book.  Please see the photos. Printed by the Emerson & Gray Company of Wiscasset, the stories take place in Wiscasset and surrounding towns on the Maine coast. This is a piece of Maine’s literary history and a great addition for collectors of rare books!
