Mid 1800’s Lady’s Companion Sewing Etui and Tiny Wood and Velvet Pin Cushion

Measures:  Etui – 3” tall, 1.5” wide, Cushion – 1.5” tall, 1” wide

These little lovelies just seemed like they belonged together.  Both date to about the mid 1800’s.  The Lady’s Companion etui includes a tiny pair of scissors and a stiletto.  There once were more pieces but over time these have gone missing.  The latch and hinge are in place and functional.  The metal frame between the cover and the base is coming loose but remains in place.  “Lady’s Companion” still stands out in its gilt lettering on the front.  This etui has been put to use over the years and does need to be handled with care :-)

The pin cushion is simple in its design, a small wooden bowl with velvet cushion.  The cushion was once a vibrant red, this has worn through the years but there are no holes or tears in the fabric.
