Late 1800’s Mauchline Ware Egg Cup, “Bunker Hill Monument 221 Feet High”

Measures:  3.25” tall, 1.75” wide

This egg cup is in perfect condition, no chips or cracks and has a wonderful patina!  It would make a fine pin cushion base.  The picture is Bunker Hill Monument, the monument was dedicated in 1843 in memory of the Battle of Bunker Hill, June 17, 1775 when New England soldiers faced the British for the first time in battle.

Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland.  It is made of sycamore and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations.  It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
