Late 1800’s His and Hers Watch Fobs

Set of 2 Victorian Era watch fobs.  One is for a lady’s pocket watch, the other for a gentleman.  The gentleman’s leather fob has been much loved but is still in one piece.. The tag is engraved with the former owner’s initials and last name, "F. A. Fobes".  There is some patina on the silver which could be polished, it is marked “sterling” near the top where the leather strap attaches.  The back of the tag is also leather. The strap is worn and fragile, as would be expected for the age of the piece.

The lady’s black watch fob was made in the late 1800s or early 1900s by Foster and Bailey, a company that was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in 1878.  The black material does have some fraying along the edges. The gold accents are in very good condition, as is the crystal jewel on one end.  The other end has a toggle which would go through a buttonhole. The latch holding the crystal jewel is marked F&B on the inside.
