Established in New York City in 1832, Ketcham & McDougall produced exceedingly high-quality thimbles. The company ceased production in 1932, during the depths of the Great Depression. This sterling silver thimble has a 10k gold band engraved with the initials “JBD” and the year “1921”. 101 years ago! The size of the thimble suggests that it was either for a child or a very petite lady. The thimble is not out of round, there are no punctures and the hallmark appears in the apex of the thimble.
