Ketcham & MacDougall Sterling Silver Thimble, Size 8

This thimble is just beautiful!  It is more like a piece of jewelry than a thimble!  The care and attention to artistic detail is stunning!  And it is in very good condition:  there are no punctures, and it is not out of round.  The hallmark is clearly visible in the top along with the word “Sterling”.   Established in New York City in 1832, Ketcham & McDougall produced exceedingly high-quality thimbles.  The company ceased production in 1932, during the depths of the Great Depression.  This is certainly a thimble of “exceedingly high-quality”!
