Ok, I LOVE animals….  So, spoiler alert – Hector, the St. Bernard dies saving the weary traveler.  I was waiting for the happy ending then I remembered:  1889.  However, the illustrations in this little book are beautifully done, the verse is captivating.  There is some damage to the book, but it is in good display condition and can certainly be read with a gentle touch keeping in mind it is well over 100 years old.  Please see the photos to better assess condition.  I have shown each page.
