Early Treenware Button Box

Measures:  1.5” tall, 3” across

The finish on this little button box is a smooth, dark varnish – as the Victorians seemed to favor.  There are no chips or cracks in the box.  The buttons are mostly white, lots of shell buttons, perhaps a few bone and some may be a bit more modern.  The cover fits snugly and makes a rather high-pitched squawk when removed – Porter, the Shop dog voices his protests when it is opened! 😊
