Early 1900’s Tiny Sad Iron with Removable Handle

Measures:  4” long, 3” tall

This is a hefty little iron! And it’s so stinkin’ cute!  Likely used for small items and to get into pleats, etc.  It is stamped on the handle, Pat May 22 1900.  The handles are wooden, there is a small bit of surface rust on the iron – this could be remedied with some steel wool if desired.  This iron would have been heated on a stove top, the electric iron didn’t become commonplace until the 1920’s – 1930’s.  The entire top of the iron comes off and could be attached to another, matching iron – one that was on the stove, hot and ready to go!
