This collection includes a "Lilac de Fleurs" bottle by Lander, New York (circa 1920s), featuring its original paper label and a metal cap, alongside a glass "Triple Extract Heliotrope" for the handkerchief (late 19th century) with a cork stopper. This bottle reflects a Victorian tradition of personal scenting. During the Victorian era, personal hygiene practices were not nearly as good as they are today, and heavy perfumes were commonly used to mask odors. This perfume would have been a prized accessory for a well-to-do Victorian! Also included is a mid-century cobalt blue vial with a tassel that once held "Evening in Paris" perfume. Accompanying the perfume bottles is a mid-century embroidered collar, handcrafted in India. The embroidery was done with metallic thread and tiny beads. It is in excellent condition and would be a unique addition to a vintage outfit!
