Antique “Make-Do” Sewing Bird, Repaired

This bird is unique, if you look closely, you will see that it is actually a combination of 2 birds. Someone believed in the old adage, “Make do or do without!” and they made do!  The base and bottom part of the bird are much older than the top, though both pieces date to the 1800’s.  The clamp is a bit bent but the screw to attach it to a work surface works well.  The beak opens and closes, the spring has been adjusted to fit the base of the bird so the movement is not smooth but does work.
