1960’s Beau Jewels Spider Web Convertible Brooch in Original Box

Measures:  2.5” wide

"Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly.  This is the first line of a poem written in 1829 by Mary Howitt, and it’s so appropriate for this beautiful brooch!  The web is golden, the spider in the parlour is wearing rhinestones and alas, the fly has walked into the parlour – pretty blue wings and all!  The rhinestone spider can be swapped out for a spider wearing all black, perfect for Halloween.  Beau Jewels was an American costume jewelry company in business under Bowman & Foster from the 1940's until the early 1970's.  I believe this set dates to the 1960’s.  In doing my research, I discovered that both the Addams Family and The Munsters first aired in September of 1964!  That would make this brooch particularly relevant for that era!  I don't believe this was ever worn, or at least not often - the spider in black has never been removed!
