1940’s – 1950’s Junior Miss Toy Sewing Machine

Measures:  6.5” tall, 10” wide, 4.5” deep

This is a very sturdy little sewing machine.  It turns over smoothly, there is a needle in place, the presser foot lever works fine as do the feed dogs.  Made by Artcraft Metal Products of West Haven, CT a company that produced toy machines in the 1940’s and 1950’s.  The machine is hinged so that it can be tilted back to reveal the drive mechanism underneath.  There is some significant paint loss, the logos are in place and still readable.  There would have been a wooden base under the machine, that has gone missing over the years.  The wooden handle on the crank is also missing.  This sweet little machine has been played with and loved, I wonder how many children learned to sew on this? 😊
