1920’s – 1930’s New Home Sewing Machine Parts Box Including Parts and Manual

Measures:  6.5” long, 3” wide, 2” tall

The New Home Sewing Machine Co. of Orange, MA enjoyed a golden era from the 1880’s to 1920.  The company was purchased by Free Sewing Machine Co in 1928 and the New Home brand continued through the 1930’s and 1940’s.  In 1955 Janome bought what remained of New Home.  This box of parts seems to be nearly complete, missing just a few pieces.  The accompanying manual has a few bent edges and tears but is overall still readable – in several languages including Portuguese, French and Spanish!  The box is lined in purple velvet, no holes or tears.  The parts have nice scrollwork engraving with the brand name stamped on them.  Some have numbers, some words such as “Flannel”.  The parts were made by EJ Toof of New Haven, CT and say Pat. Ap’d For.  The box has no dents, there is some paint loss.  Opens and closes well.
