1920’s – 1930’s Molinard Paris Concreta Perfume Pots, Hand Painted Bakelite

Measures:  ½ “ tall, 1” wide

These tiny Bakelite pots were created in 1925 to hold the first solid perfumes, created by Molinard and called Concreta.  These solid perfumes were actual wax from the flowers!  There is wax remaining in each pot and the smell is amazing!  Honestly, I don’t usually care for scent, but these are fabulous!  The tops of the pots are hand painted, no two are alike and there is a tiny label on the bottom which tells you what the scent is.  These are some of the oldest Concreta pots, likely dating to the 1920’s.  The oldest Concreta are the ones presented in the Bakelite balls, these are it!  Only one of the pots is missing its label, the others are:  Rose, Heliotrope, Pois de Senteur (Sweet Pea).  My favorite is Heliotrope though they are all lovely!  All the pots are in fine condition!  These would fit perfectly into a handbag, without leaking – a nice feature!

"The genuine wax of the flowers, used directly as a perfume, Just a touch behind the ear, in the hair, on the eyebrows, on the linings of your coat, quite enough to be perfumed.", states a vintage Concreta advertisement.

*Perfume pots only are included in the sale, other items are my photo helpers, including the heart shaped jewelry box :-)
