1910's “Lilac Sweets” Solon Palmer Perfume Bottle

Measures:  6.75” tall

Solon Palmer, NY produced over 100 perfumes from 1885 to the 1920’s.  He was probably the first American to manufacture perfume on a commercial scale.  He was very particular, gave his personal attention to his business and was satisfied with nothing but excellent results.  This gorgeous bottle, Lilac Sweets dates to about 1910.  Lilac Sweets was introduced in 1868 and again in 1893.  The label is stunning with gilt decoration and embossed lilac blossoms.  The brass top is stamped “Solon Palmer NY”, the stopper is easily removed, and the amazing scent is still there!  I can see why the label says “Better than many perfumes”, it is very subtle and well, sweet!  The bottle is in excellent condition, the labels are intact and full of color, the bottle itself has no chips or cracks, the brass top and stopper are flawless.  A precious find!
