1910’s Jennings Brothers Souvenir Shoe Pin Cushion, “Mt. Vernon, VA Washington’s Mansion”

Measures:  3.5” long

This lovely old pin cushion is a great example of the metal art produced in the Arts and Crafts period.  It was made as a souvenir for Mt. Vernon, VA.  The finish shows wear as does the cushion, please see the photos.  It is marked on the bottom, JB 515.  Jennings Brothers was established in 1891 in Bridgeport, CT and was in business until 1954.  They were known for their finely crafted art metal pieces which required techniques that did not translate well to mass production.  They took great pride in their work, and it is still evident over 100 years later!
