1910’s -1920’s Wooden Fairy Soap Boxes, Set of 14

Measures:  Rectangular – 6.5” long, 2.25” wide, 1.5” tall, Square – 3” x 1.5”

N.K. Fairbank founded and began selling Fairy Soap in the U.K. around 1897, the brand was sold to Proctor and Gamble in 1930.  Fairy Soap is still available today in the U.K.  I acquired these wooden soap boxes at an estate auction (1800’s General Store!) here in Maine.  There are 2 sizes, all the boxes are wooden with beautiful lithograph labels.  The square boxes are finger jointed at the corners.  All the tops slide easily, the square boxes are stamped inside with the date of manufacture ranging from 1918 to 1929, not all the dates are clearly readable.   The labels are in place with the exception of one side of one rectangular box (as shown), there are signs of age on the paper – some fading and slight discoloration, to be expected for the age of the pieces.  These are great for display or working into craft projects!
