1880’s – 1910’s Mauchline Ware Needle Case with Double Ended Bone Crochet Hook

Measures:  Case – 9.25” long, Crochet needle – 8.25” long

This needle case came with a fabulous double ended carved bone crochet hook!  The hook is likely bovine bone and is in wonderful condition, it could certainly be used today!  The case has no damage, the picture is “United States Government Buildings World’s Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893”.

Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland.  It is made of sycamore and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations.  It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
