1880’s – 1910’s Mauchline Ware Needle Book and Pin Disk

Measures:  Needle Book – 3.75” long, 2.5” wide, Pin Disk – 2.25” wide

The needle book is in very good shape. The binding is undamaged. The inside is lined with royal blue satin.  Each side has a pocket and there is flannel in the middle.  The photo is “Summit of Mt Washington“.

The pin disk has a photo of “Delaware Water Gap PA Mount Minsi and Mount Tammany“. The royal blue velvet is in very good condition. There is little to no wear on the pin desk.

Mauchline Ware is so named because it was produced in or near a small town called Mauchline in Scotland.  It is made of sycamore and often had transfer photos of popular tourist destinations.  It was produced from the mid 1800’s until 1933 when the last Mauchline Ware factory was destroyed by fire.
